Plastics Made Perfect with Autodesk Moldflow

Time

3:10pm - 4:10pm

Room Name

Foundry D

About the Course

This session is for designers and engineers interested in using Autodesk Moldflow for plastic injection & compression molding to optimize designs for molded part manufacturability.

Challenges we’ll address:

  • Long, unpredictable product development schedules & delayed release to manufacturing

  • Low manufacturing yields/high defect rates

  • “Over-engineered” products (excess materials, assembly steps, etc.)

  • High tooling rework costs

Session Outcomes:

  • Reduce new product testing & prototype cycle time

  • Increase mold part manufacturing yield

  • Reduce manufacturing scrap and rework

What if you could simulate the performance of your designs under real-world conditions without prototyping? With Autodesk Moldflow Adviser, you can evaluate concepts and see impacts of your design choices early in the development process before manufacturing begins.

This session will demonstrate plastic part design using Moldflow Adviser’s intuitive, wizard-based simulation tools to set up the model and analyze and evaluate the results, so you can optimize your designs for molded part manufacturability.

This session will also introduce Moldflow Insight for injection and compression molding, and Fusion 360 for plastic part design, so you can understand the differences and when you should introduce each into your product design workflows.

Key Topics:

  • Comparing Moldflow Adviser, Moldflow Insight, and Fusion 360’s plastic part analysis capabilities. Which is right for you?

  • Taking Moldflow results into other tools
