Importance of Contract Language for BIM Projects
Time
9:25am - 10:25am
Room Name

About the Course
Owners, construction managers, design consultants and contractors often need to include achievable BIM goals within their contract when developing projects in the design and construction phases. It's critical to define those BIM goals clearly in the contract before the project starts so they are successfully communicated when using BIM in design and/or construction.
In this session, you’ll be introduced to the key contract language that should be included in the design and construction phases to successfully use BIM, either on design/bid/build, or design/build projects. You’ll cover aspects such as LOD completion, modeling techniques, quantity extraction, incorporation of the construction schedule & cost, monitoring progress, capturing commissioning information, and obtaining an as-built model at the end of construction.
By the end of this session, you’ll be able to:
Identify what BIM requirements to ask, and how to ask them
Identify how to monitor BIM requirements
Understand there might be portions of a project that are not BIM, just 2D
Understand that a BIM model will have multiple LODs
If you want to successfully communicate clear and achievable BIM goals within your contract when developing projects, this session is for you!
